Group Living Support Manager - Prince Albert, SK (Personal Services)

Join our Team as a Group Living Support Manager! 

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact as a Group Living Support Manager? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Group Living Support Manager to provide direct leadership, supervision, and support to the group living teams and oversees resource management for the evening hours of operation. The Group Living Support Manager is the first point of contact during the evening for crisis response and unit notifications. The Group Living Support Manager ensures policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met. The Group Living Support Manager oversees the evening services including crisis management as well as supports employee development and performance management within the Northern Multiple Program team. The Group Living Support Manager collaborates and communicates with the group living team and other internal and external stakeholders.  

Education and Professional Certification

  • University degree in human services or related field of study.

Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges.
  • Minimum four (4) years of management experience.

Services

  • Through oversight and management, ensure adequate and trained workers are maintained and efficiently scheduled to provide emergency staffing and back up to the group living services programs.
  • Responsible for group living services crisis response and management as well as contact for group living services staff notifications during the evening hours of agency operation.
  • Ensure the participant's needs are met in accordance with policy and procedures including: safety, treatment, medication administration, healthcare, documentation, nutrition, chores, and hygiene.
  • Collaborate with and establish professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the Behavior Management and Support Policy and Procedures are being followed.
  • Provide post-crisis response and debriefing follow-up and training.
  • Participate in community events, agency activities, and other activities as required.
  • Ensure the assigned team's documentation in permanent records, working papers, and communications is complete and in compliance with agency standards.
  • Provide environmental safety checks and upkeep to the units and the grounds.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Leadership

  • Manage the assigned team including; recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, and staff discipline.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and team development for all assigned employees including: facilitating team meetings and individual supervisions; overseeing and providing training and development plans; completing evaluations, reviews, and when applicable, performance improvement plans; participating in employee relations issues and investigations; providing post-crisis debriefing; and providing advice and consultation.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met.

Management of Resources

  • Schedule employees using agency approved systems for 24/7/365 coverage for the participant of the unit. Manage and update the schedules as required including approving paid time off (PTO) requests, filling open shifts, and addressing staffing requirements.
  • Effective stewardship of assigned assets and resources required for the delivery of the residential treatment program including; building(s), vehicles(s), furnishings, and equipment. Ensure the timely communication with Property Management for the needed maintenance, repairs, and replacement of those assets.
  • Provide input into the operational budget.
  • Responsible for timely expense reconciliations.

Safety

  • Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
  • Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
  • Include health and safety in departmental plans with measurable goals and objectives.
  • Ensure employees are working in compliance with established safe work practices.

Additional Requirements

  • The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines. 
  • Employees must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.

Wage Range: $­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­71,552.00 - $92,476.80 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
