District and A&D Market Manager (Sales)



Teknion Limited is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join us in Vancouver as an A&D Market Manager and District Manager. This unique role offers the chance to grow market share within the Architect and Design (A&D) community while also collaborating with a skilled sales team to meet district sales goals. We're looking for a strategic thinker with strong relationships in the A&D sector, excellent communication skills, and a proven history of sales success in the contract furniture industry.

What will you be responsible for in this role?
  • A&D Market Management 
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive market strategy to increase Teknion's brand presence and product specification within the A&D community in Vancouver and the surrounding areas.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key architects, designers, and specifiers through regular communication, presentations, and networking events.
    • Serve as the primary contact for the A&D community, offering product knowledge, application expertise, and project support.
    • Track A&D projects from start to finish, ensuring Teknion products are considered and specified.
    • Work with marketing and product development teams to create targeted materials and programs for the A&D market.
    • Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive activities within the A&D sector.
    • Organize and host A&D events, including product launches, CEU presentations, and networking opportunities.
  • District Manager 
    • Manage all sales activities related to achieving territory sales and profitability objectives, sales forecasting, and business development.
    • Identify business opportunities and develop relationships with the customer base, including corporations, and municipal and provincial government agencies.
    • Determine, secure, and maintain new network contacts through appropriate associations, increasing Teknion's visibility and presence in the office furniture industry.
    • Maintain and enhance business relationships with existing Dealers by meeting with Dealer principals, discussing and implementing ways to improve performance, and educating Dealer personnel on Teknion products and procedures.
    • Collaborate with Dealer Sales personnel to increase Teknion sales through new business development.
    • Build business relationships with the Architecture and Design Community and their clients by educating them on Teknion's products.
    • Stay informed about industry competitors, market trends, product innovations, and market conditions.
    • Provide Teknion Management with critical sales information and administrative reports, and keep Head Office updated on market conditions and trends.
    • Coordinate and maintain office and showroom administration with support staff, ensuring showroom products are kept current and in order at all times.
    • Ensure access to the best possible channels of distribution by continuously searching for better methods to market Teknion products to end users.
    • Confer with your immediate supervisor, suggesting changes and improvements in design, pricing, or policy.
What's needed to thrive in this role?
  •  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the contract furniture industry, with a strong understanding of the A&D process.
  • An established network of relationships within the Vancouver A&D community is essential.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving specification within the A&D market.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and developing sales professionals.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be based in Vancouver and willing to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
