Rotating Equipment Engineer (Engineering)



INVISTA (Canada) Company's Kingston Site located in Kingston, Ontario has an opening for a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our Integrated Engineering Team. INVISTA Kingston is one of the city's largest employers with over 650 employees dedicated to the production of quality products used in the automotive airbag and engineering polymers industries. Our large production plant has a broad range of engineering applications from the upstream chemical processes (reactors, distillation columns, extruders) to downstream spinning processes which use highly automated, mechanical systems.

As part of our multi-disciplined engineering team, you will be responsible for the reliability and design of mechanical systems in a large industrial manufacturing facility. Engineering efforts may be part of capital and/or large expense projects, or in an operations support role.

What You Will Do

  • Lead root-cause analysis efforts to solve reliability problems and drive the implementation of solutions to improve asset availability and efficiency
  • Develop and implement improved predictive and preventive maintenance strategies on priority assets
  • Lead the development of engineering designs in support of various project activities at the Kingston Site. This includes the sizing and specification of mechanical equipment, pumps, rotating equipment, valves and piping systems
  • Opportunities also available to act as Project Manager or Engineering Lead in support of capital projects

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) OR ten (10) or more years' experience with rotating equipment
  • Three (3) or more years' experience with rotating equipment in a manufacturing environment

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Existing or potential for Professional Engineer registration
  • Program Ownership experience
  • Experience with rotating equipment, including vibration and oil analysis
  • CMVA professional certification
