WHERE YOU COME IN
We are looking for a Gaming & Streaming Intern to join our Brand & Integrated Marketing team at Make-A-Wish® Canada. Working with the Mass Marketing & Digital team and reporting to the Senior Manager of Digital Marketing, this internship provides an opportunity to work closely with a team of professionals in the nonprofit sector, gaining hands-on experience in mass & direct mail fundraising and marketing.
This role is based out of our office in Toronto (North York). This is a full-time internship at 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and is on a hybrid model (2 days in office/3 days work from home office). The ideal start date for the successful candidate is by mid-June, with an end date of September 26th, 2025.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Gaming & Streaming Intern will support the development and growth of our gaming and streaming fundraising program. This role will assist in recruitment efforts, build digital presence, create supporter journeys, develop content, and provide regular performance reporting—all contributing to the success of our upcoming August event and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and recommend best practices in charity gaming/streaming to inform ongoing strategy.
- Assist in building a strong presence for our gaming and streaming initiatives across digital platforms (social media, website, email, digital advertising).
- Create and build a comprehensive Gaming & Streaming Toolkit to guide participants on how to fundraise effectively.
- Lead recruitment and promotional activities for Make-A-Wish Canada's inaugural summer gaming/streaming fundraising event through digital marketing and outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with the digital team to design and implement a supporter journey—from initial outreach to full participant acquisition and engagement.
- Manage and engage with the online gaming/streaming community, responding to inquiries, fostering conversation, and maintaining a positive, supportive environment.
- Build and maintain relationships with gamers, streamers, and potential fundraising participants to encourage long-term engagement and loyalty.
- Develop content related to gaming and streaming, including wish stories, blog articles, social media posts, and email content.
- Provide regular reporting on recruitment, engagement metrics, and campaign performance to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with general administrative and project support related to the gaming/streaming program, as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Education in e-sports, marketing, public relations, or a related field (or working towards).
- Current student or a recent graduate.
- Some related experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with gaming, streaming and fundraising platforms (Twitch, YouTube Gaming, Discord, Tiltify, etc.), and online fundraising is a strong asset.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong interest in nonprofit communications and brand management.
- Innovative, creative, resourceful self-starter; you enjoy challenging yourself.
- A clear Criminal Background Check will be required.
YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Hybrid work environment, requiring working in the office 2 days per week and working from a home office 3 days per week.
