Job Purpose:

The Autonomous Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the successful deployment of the AM program at the Bolton Foods Plant. They will work closely with Pillar members, Autonomous Work Teams, and cross functional support to embed sustainable practices of Area & Equipment ownership within the Operation.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience with MSE/TPM programs (specifically Autonomous Maintenance)
  • Six sigma problem solving - green belt or higher preferred
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or sciences preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills, the ability to effectively lead and coach others, a high drive for results, and a methodical work style
  • Ability to Drive Vision and Purpose, Motivate Others, Drive Sustainable Results, and build MSE skill set.

What will be your key responsibilities?
Key Activities:

  • Transfer technical knowledge to the operations team and upskill operators to perform expected activities of MSE program. Responsible to validate
  • Creation and adherence to capability building plan for Operators + Assessment of AWT skills and plan for gap closures
  • Support the AWT with the creation of AM related documentation (CILs, Safety Maps, CLs, etc)
  • Teach operators for basic mechanical and electrical theory and for tools they will need for AM activities.
  • Train operators on BFP equipment design, autonomous maintenance activities expected and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Lead AM support DMS at the factory and implement all activities to achieve expected BFP maturity level.
  • Active member of AWT teams
  • Track the progress of AM DMS implementation and report every AM pillar / AWT meeting.
  • Perform process confirmation of AM activities and track the maturity/completion level.
  • Coach AWT on AM KPIs and track their maturity/ capabilities level
  • Track "assisting production" SAP breakdown hours and use them as an improvement opportunity via CAPA process.

Key Accountabilities:

  • AWT meetings: be present in all AWT meetings to chair the meeting and drive AM development and progress on the lead lines
  • AWT Teaching & Coaching: coaching on the appropriate use of all AM DMS's to ensure a healthy compliance to AM processes . Teach & coach AM operators to improve on their Step-Up-Cards (SUC) maturity level.
  • AWT Activity board: ensure all documents are ready and up to date for the AWT meeting through engagement with data owners. Responsible for updating the attendance register, activity plan, 90-day plan, SUC report, Step Audit results.
  • 5S: 5S champion to rollout 5S standards. Support in 5S audit and coaching operator to reach 5S excellence.
  • CL: CL champion to develop, implement & improve CLs on identified critical equipment.
  • CIL: CIL champion to develop and implement & improve CILs on identified critical equipment.
  • AH: Support AH owner to ensure the AH process is healthy.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates well with all stakeholders (quality, commercial, systems & finance, technical and operations & warehouse teams) effectively identify and mitigate efficiency & waste losses and improve line efficiency on AM deployed lines.
  • Problem solving/ Root cause analysis: Participate in BPS cards started to improve line efficiency (TRS). Investigate all "operator induced" breakdown problems.
  • Creation, management (filing & printing) & training of standards/ SOPs/ OPLs and ensuring any of AM activities change is well communicated on the shopfloor.
  • Preform job observations for certain tasks related to AM & FMOS.
  • Ensure all safety & quality standards applicable to the AM roll-out area are implemented and actions required to implement is followed through at CP3.
