Our Certified Electricians must be willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts, variable start times including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled.

Our OSB (Oriented Strand Board) Mill in Englehart, ON is seeking Certified Electricians. We offer a competitive compensation package including shift premiums, performance pay, benefits and pension.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Test, repair, and calibrate electric and electronic components
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Interpret electrical code specifications and read blueprints and circuit diagrams.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to 12 hours in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with team members in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and maintenance staff to enhance equipment reliability and improve automation efficiency
  • Work with computer software tools for historical tracking, troubleshooting, and monitoring
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in root cause analysis for electrical failures
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory standards (e.g., OHSA, CSA Z462, Canadian Electrical Code)
  • Ability to work 8-hour or 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Journeyman Electrician Certification (309A)
  • Experience with using electrical diagrams, multimeters, and software diagnostic tools
  • Strong knowledge of safety systems and machine guarding standards

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (e.g., PLC-5, SLC 500, RSLogix 5000)
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley VFDs (e.g., 1336 to 755 series)
  • Experience with automation and industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the OSB or wood products industry
