Project Analyst - Construction (Project Management)

As a project analyst you will provide stakeholders with better visibility into performance drivers, support decision making, and help advance process efficiency to guide store experience and the project teams in achieving company goals.

We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you'll do:

  • Support the business in their day-to-day and long term strategic decision-making process through insightful, high quality and data-driven financial and operational analyses 
  • Focus of analyses ranging from short-term, current-business incremental opportunities such as major store projects and store renovations or brand-new ‘blue sky' initiatives such as new store openings 
  • Influence people and decision making by bringing data to life through compelling stories that drive action and bringing a fact-based approach and ability to understand multiple perspectives into the conversation 
  • Learn and embrace new analytics methodologies, approach, and data management, compiling and analyzing data from various sources using queries, Excel and other BI tools, communicating the results in an effective and efficient manner  
  • Partner with stakeholders in the preparation of various financial planning activities (long range planning, forecasting, annual budgeting) 
  • Obtain quotes from vendors on owner supplied items 
  • Submit and issue Purchase Orders as well as creating business cases for capital projects 
  • Bring business meaning to financials by synthesizing financial data, and identifying variances and trends to provide insightful commentaries 
  • Collaborate with other team members to build business cases and obtain appropriate approval by the Senior Leadership Team and Finance teams 
  • Assist in the creation of new reporting that business can run on their own while helping to maintain data integrity and accuracy of those distributed reports and ensuring stakeholders have access to timely, relevant, and accurate financial and operational reporting  
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of small projects in store executed by third party vendors

What we're looking for:

  • Over 3 years of experience in financial or data analysis
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL or other data analysis tool
  • Preferably experienced with various BI tools preferred, eg. MS SSAS (OLAP), SSRS, MS BI, Tableau
  • Experience in client facing role within and outside finance

Annualized base pay range

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00

Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
