Position Details
Are you a data enthusiast with a knack for turning complex datasets into actionable insights? Join our team as a Data Analyst and play a pivotal role in shaping our Enterprise Data and Analytics strategy. We're looking for someone with strong technical skills and a deep understanding of data management, analysis, business processes, and reporting. You'll collaborate with a diverse IT team and user-base across manufacturing plants in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Italy, and China, driving decision-making and supporting our organization's goals and objectives. What you will do:

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyze large datasets from multiple sources. Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and useful.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Create and maintain automated dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide valuable insights to key stakeholders using Power BI and other pertinent tools.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity and quality by performing regular checks and troubleshooting data inconsistencies. Develop and implement strategies for data cleansing and validation.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance in the use of data analysis tools and techniques. Work alongside IT teams to improve data systems and infrastructure.
  • Database Management: Collaborate with database administrators and developers to ensure efficient database management and optimization.
  • Trend Analysis & Forecasting: Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within datasets and provide predictive analysis to help inform strategic decision-making.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document processes, methodologies, and code used for data analysis and reporting. Maintain clear records of project requirements, analysis results, and outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems analysts, software developers, subject matter experts, and management to align data insights with business goals.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL Server).
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar tools).
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration techniques.
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions and pivot tables.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Excellent base salary and targeted annual bonus structure (Entry Salary: $58,000 plus bonus; Salary will be determined based on skills, ability, and qualifications)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. 
  • 2+ years of experience in a data analysis role with an IT-focus. Entry level candidates with demonstrated competencies considered.
  • Experience with design, development, and implementation preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power PI, One Lake, and Fabric preferred.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms or predictive modeling.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and agile methodologies.
  • Experience in scripting languages, data analysis, and statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, Bash, or similar).

This position requires travel both domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.  This position is being filled in our Charlottetown office and is not available for remote work at this time.
